Grok Bot vs Muse vs Dots: three personal agents, from the official docs

Updated on

Grok Bot vs Muse vs Dots is a question many people ask on X now that xAI, OpenAI and Meta each have an always-on personal agent. This page puts the three side by side using only what each company has published.

We have not tested Dots or Muse, and this page has no winner. Where the companies' own pages disagree or say nothing, we say so.

The short version

All three are always-on agents that work on a cloud computer, keep going when you close the app, and ask before risky steps. They differ most in who can sign up today, whether you get one agent or a team, and how each one decides what needs your approval.

FAQ

Which is available in the EU and UK?

OpenAI says Dots on the personal Pro plan is for users outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, while Business Premium and Enterprise are rolling out worldwide. Meta lists Muse for the US and Canada only. xAI's docs do not give a country list for Grok Bot itself, but they say tagging @bot on X is not available for accounts based in the EU, the UK, Australia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.

Which one gives you more than one agent?

Grok Bot is built around several Bots, one job each, sharing one cloud computer. Dots starts with one primary dot, and OpenAI says you will be able to add more later. Muse is one agent that can launch sub-agents for parts of a task.

Which model does each use?

OpenAI says Dots runs on GPT-6 Astra. Meta says Muse runs on Muse Spark today, with Muse Wonder coming to subscribers first. xAI's security docs say Cursor manages model selection for Grok Bot and there is no model picker.

Can they spend my money?

All three can buy things with your approval. Grok Bot can pay with X Money, Stripe Link or Shop Pay. Dots uses cards already saved on a merchant's site. Muse uses Link's one-time cards, with Shop Pay and PayPal announced. Dots hands money transfers between accounts back to you.

Which one is best?

We don't know. We have not run the three on the same job, so we will not name one. Use the questions under How to choose.
